Expo 2015 Presentation Evening

On April 23rd was held at the residence of the Italian Embassy "Expo 2015 Presentation Evening" . In collaboration with the Italian Embassy the main promoter of this event was the Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA) and the Executive Director Mrs. Manjola Gjoni, the general commissar of Albania in Expo Milano 2015.

His Excellency, Mr. Ambassador Massimo Gaiani gratified his collaborators and AIDA on the work and highlighted the role of the exhibition as a forward facing like Albania will contribute through its wealth of knowledge era, innovation and technology. The Theme "Feed the Planet, Energy for Life" captures the main challenge that our planet has to face: Food nutrition and sustainable development.

"The presence of Albania in the international exhibition Expo Milano in one of the most important events for our country. For this reason,the project proposal of Albania, is a maximum dedication,a rare tradition and has cultural values in the context of culinary, but a worthy effort to promote the country as a destination to develop partnership opportunities in terms of relations trade and foreign investment " – said Mrs. Manjola Gjoni in her speech.

In addition Mrs. Gjoni presented the activities that Albania aims to complete during the six months of participation in Expo 2015 and sent cordial thanks to the official collaborators of this project among which the support of the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship, donors, as as well as the best professionals in the culinary area.

This event aimed to present the particularities of the Albanian pavilion promoting gastronomic perfection Albanian tradition at the World Exhibition in Milan, whose opening is scheduled on May 1st, 2015.

Albania has joined with enthusiasm the Cluster initiative Bio-Mediterraneo, where the main goal of the evening was the presentation of the gastronomic map of all regions of the country, as well as places where Albanian minorities have preserved their ancient traditions.

The evening was served with several traditional Albanian dishes, with Albanian typical drinks, as the famous “Rakia”, local wines, soft drinks, and various traditional cakes. In addition there were presented, "Made in Albania" handicraft works and art.
